Acts of the Apostles 01: The Upper Room

It began not with fire, but with waiting. 120 people in a borrowed upstairs room, told to do nothing but stay and pray.

In this first session of Acts of the Apostles — Of Today, we open the Book of Acts at its true starting point: not Pentecost itself, but the ten empty days before it. We look at what the fire actually did when it fell — not a spectacle, but a household; not a phenomenon, but ordinary people devoted to teaching, meals, prayer, and each other. And we ask the question this chapter refuses to let us avoid: if Peter and John — men who had already received the “original” Pentecost — knelt down weeks later and asked to be filled again, what does that mean for the rest of us who assumed this was a file closed long ago?
